Swindon Town are now twelve points clear at the top following their 3-1 victory over fourth placed Southampton Saints. The Town started the stronger but had to wait until the 39th minute before Sarah Uzzell scored with a low drive. Saints enjoyed a good period in the second half but fell further behind when Lisa Coe found Beth Thompson wide on the Town's right and her cross was knocked in by Alice Smith from close range. In the 75th minute, Sally Buttterfield came on as a substitute and immediately picked the ball up on the halfway line before running half the length of the field to lob the ball over the advancing keeper. Saints netted a consolation in the 86th minute when Roxanne Lee-Stewart hooked the ball in following a goalmouth scramble.
