Cardiff Met Ladies maintained their seven point lead at the top of the Welsh Premier Women's League by winning 5-0 against Aberystwyth Town.
The league leaders led at the break through a goal scored by Georgie Malpas just before the half hour but just two minutes into the second half, they went further ahead when Sophie Scherschel netted the second. Ellie Sergeant made it three and Emily Allen joined her on the scoresheet, before Scherschel completed her double in injury time.
PILCS contined the chase in second place as they bounced back from defeat seven days earlier to beat Cardiff City FC 4-1. City did take a sixth minute lead through Lisa Bird but Ceri Hudson hit back quickly and Kate Jeremiah ensured that PILCS then went in front midway through the first half. The game remained in the balance until the dying minutes, when Amy Thrupp scored twice to sew up the points.
Wrexham cemented themselves in the mid-table with a 2-1 victory over Llandudno, who remain one place below them. Emma Robson netted the only goal of the first half for Wrexham and after Llandudno had equalised just after the hour with a strike from Stacey Treadwell, Laura Mitchell settled matters in Wrexham's favour with fourteen minutes remaining.
Rhyl & Prestatyn kept up their climb away from danger and are heading towards mid-table security following their second victory in successive weeks. Laura Williams scored the only goal of the game, midway through the second half, to secure a crucial win against Newcastle Emlyn.
