Following her outstanding debut season with Millwall Lionesses, gifted young midfielder Lilli Maple has been rewarded with a two year contract, which will keep her at the club until the end of the 2017 campaign.
Lilli, who turned 19 on Monday, initially joined Millwall's development squad but made such an impact at the club that she was handed her senior debut in the Lionesses 2014 opening day WSL 2 match at Watford.
She quickly became a mainstay in the Lionesses first team, making 22 League and Cup appearances, and rounded off a sensational campaign with a call up to the England Under-19 squad in October.
At her contract signing, Lilli explained that she was surprised and delighted to commit her future to the club, saying: "I'm feeling very good right now.
"Ever since I first arrived at the club I knew that I wanted to stay with Millwall for a very long time. So for people to believe in me and think that I'm worth giving a contract to is really good."
Lilli's new deal follows the contract extensions of defender Naomi Cole and goalkeeper Sarah Quantrill and the combative midfielder believes those signings will be key to the Lionesses success in 2015.
She continued: "Sarah and Naomi are absolutely essential to our team and our plans because they bring such good morale to the team and they also encourage us such a lot on the pitch.
"Sarah is just amazing in goal so it's a big positive for us to keep her. Naomi is just so solid, she performs week in week out for us and they are going to be crucial to Millwall this season."
