Only two of the five scheduled games in the Welsh Premier Women's League managed to beat the weather on Sunday, but there was one significant result near the top of the table.
Two of the chasing pack came face to face with each other and it was visitors Cardiff City FC who picked up a vital 1-0 win away to Swansea City, lifting themselves above the Swans into third place in the process.
Alicia Davies scored the only goal of the game in the fourteenth minute to inflict only a second league defeat of the season on Swansea.
The only other match to go ahead was in north Wales and this game also yielded a single goal victory for the away side. This time it was Port Talbot Town who made the long journey home from Llandudno a positive one as they picked up a 1-0 win which moves them back into mid-table, thanks to a strike from Sian Scannell early in the second half.
