Preston North End made it five away victories on the trot when winning 4-2 at Derby County in the Northern Division.
Nicola Emery opened the scoring for the in-form Lancashire side in the ninth minute and Yasmine Swarbrick added a second on the half hour. Laura Walker made it three early in the second half and after Rhian O'Callaghan had pulled a goal back, Chelsea Flanagan quickly restored the three-goal advantage. Emily Jeffery grabbed an injury time consolation for Derby but Preston's good run has now taken them up to fifth place in the table.
Newcastle Utd and Wolverhampton Wanderers met in an important clash at the other end of the table and the Magpies are likely to be the more satisfied of the two sides following their 1-1 draw. Stacy Crooks fired Newcastle ahead just before half time but Wolves came back strongly after the break and earned themselves a share of the spoils with five minutes remaining when Dani Selmes slotted home from the penalty spot.
