Doncaster Rovers Belles are delighted to announce that attacker Jody Handley has rejoined the club from Everton.
Handley has enjoyed an illustrious career which began at Wolves in 1993. She played for Liverpool between 1993 and 2000 before a short spell at Everton Ladies.
The winger originally joined the Belles for the 2001-02 season and enjoyed a debut to remember as she grabbed a brace. Handley was part of the side who reached the FA Cup Final in 2002 and, despite Handley scoring, the Belles were beaten 2-1 by professional side Fulham.
Following her departure from the Belles in 2004 Handley rejoined Everton Ladies where she captained the side to their 2010 FA Cup win alongside current Belles goalkeeper Nicola Hobbs. After their relegation to FA WSL 2, Handley left Everton Ladies and Glen Harris acted quickly to snap up her services.
With 38 England caps to her name, including a call-up to the 2007 World Cup squad, Handley will add experience and ability to Glen Harris' squad ahead of their promotion push.
There has been further good news for the Belles this week with Courtney Sweetman-Kirk and Kasia Lipka both renewing their contracts with the club for the coming season.
