Bradford City moved a stage towards defending the Reserve Section League Cup on Sunday when they defeated Derby County 3-1 to reach the semi finals. Sheffield FC meanwhile ensured that their long journey to Gillingham was a successful one as second half strikes from Brooke Chappell and Nikki Hogg earned them a 2-0 victory. Stoke City are the other team to go through to the last four so far, Francesca Curteis grabbed the only goal in their 1-0 success at Lewes.
Newcastle Utd have gone three points clear at the top of the Northern Division after they won 5-0 away to Mansfield Town. Siobhan Jones led the scoring for the Magpies with a hat-trick and Lauren Driver weighed in with the other two goals.
In the Midland Division, Cardiff City Ladies trimmed one point off leaders Nottingham Forest when they were held to a goalless draw by Loughborough Students. Coventry City are now a further point adrift in third place after a solitary strike from Alison Livermore earned them a 1-0 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
West Ham Utd remain in second place in the Southern Division after going down to a 2-1 defeat at home to Crystal Palace. Charlton Athletic meanwhile stepped up their challenge by beating Chichester City 4-0, Francesca Tye netting twice along with Olivia Cole and Kylie Manktelow. Chloe Dark was on target four times, Elizabeth O'Callaghan contributed a hat-trick and Brittany Jeal completed the tally for Portsmouth in their 8-1 success away to Bedford Ladies.
The FA WSL Development League is underway again with a match being played in the Southern Division. London Bees moved themselves off the bottom of the table with a 3-2 victory over Bristol Academy, given to them by a Selin Buyukgiray brace and Andria Georgiou.
