FAW Women's Cup holders Cardiff Met Ladies are out of the competition this time around after they were beaten 1-0 by Swansea City in the quarter finals.
Katy Hosford scored the only goal of the game as the Swans eliminated the WPWL leaders and repeated their League Cup semi final victory of last month, ensuring there will be a new name on the trophy in the process.
Cyncoed Ladies have made it into the semi finals for the first time in their history after beating Llandudno 3-1. Gemma Harris scored twice and Fern Burrage the other for Cyncoed who are now the last remaining team from outside the WPWL in the competition.
A dramatic late fightback saw Wrexham come through a thrilling tie with a 3-2 extra time victory over Pontypridd Town. Linsey Mochan gave Pontypridd a first half lead which was doubled after the break by Kelly Tuck and the South Wales League side looked to be heading on their way towards the semi finals. However Wrexham hit back with two goals in the last seven minutes, scored by Bethan Davies and Lyndsey Rodger, and Alex Waldron completed the turnaround with nine minutes of extra time remaining by heading in the winning goal.
Cardiff City FC complete the semi final line up after they defeated Denbigh Town 5-0. However the scoreline does not reflect a great effort from Denbigh who were only one goal behind until the latter stages of the match. In the end, Lisa Bird scored a hat-trick for City and Hattie Flawn-Powell weighed in with the other two goals.
