Bradford City made a swift return to the top three in the Northern Division with a 2-0 victory over Derby County.
In very heavy and difficult conditions, Bradford did not make the breakthrough until the latter stages of the game when Charlotte Stuart gave them the lead from a free kick. Faye Boshell netted a late second from the penalty spot to seal the points for Bradford who move back above Blackburn Rovers into third place, whilst Derby stay in the bottom two.
Stoke City meanwhile brought a halt to Preston North End's fine winning run on the road by beating them 2-1, a result which takes them to within one point of their opponents. Kate Asher fired Stoke into an early lead which was quickly cancelled out by Chelsea Flanagan, before captain Meg Bowyer settled matters in Stoke's favour from close range, midway through the second half.
