Sheffield FC are just one win away from a successful defence of the trophy following a 2-0 win away to Portsmouth in the semi finals.
The clash between two in-form teams was as tight as expected but the deadlock was broken eleven minutes into the second half, when Jodie Michalska gave Sheffield the lead. Emma Johnson then scored a second, six minutes from time, to send the holders into the Final for the second season in a row.
The line up of the other semi final was only decided on Sunday and it sees former winners Charlton Athletic in the last four, after they won 2-0 at Brighton & Hove Albion. After a goalless first half, Kit Graham opened the scoring for the Addicks via a long range strike and Rosie Paye headed in the second goal.
Charlton will be at home in the semi finals to Cardiff City Ladies who emerged as 4-3 extra time winners from a thrilling tie with Coventry City. An own goal had given Cardiff an early lead before further strikes from Kelly Isaac, Naomi Clipston and Abbie Britton settled a see-saw match in their favour (see match report).
