Bradford City consolidated themselves in third place in the Northern Division with a 2-1 victory away to Sporting Club Albion.

Bradford stay two points ahead of Blackburn Rovers who were 3-2 winners over Nottingham Forest. However midway through the second half, Danielle Sheen netted a decisive goal for Rovers to maintain their interest in the title race.
Newcastle Utd picked up a crucial 2-1 win against Stoke City which moves them away from the bottom two. Stoke gave a debut to new signing Natalie Hall in goal and took the lead with a goal from Ashleigh Hayes. Newcastle fought back though with Jess Foster levelling the scores and leading scorer Stacy Crooks netted the winner for the Magpies from the penalty spot.
There was also an important victory for Derby County who are out of the bottom two after beating Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-0. Aimee Perry headed them in front in the seventeenth minute and Melissa Johnson put the seal on the win with two second half goals.
Only one match was played in the Southern Division on Sunday and it failed to produce any goals. However neither Gillingham or Plymouth Argyle are likely to be too disappointed with the outcome as each side picked up a vital point in their bid to keep away from the bottom two.
