PILCS caught up ground on Welsh Premier Women's League leaders Cardiff Met Ladies with a 3-1 victory over Aberystwyth Town.
Shauna Pentney ensured that they were two goals ahead inside the opening twenty minutes by netting twice. Naomi Evans gave Aber hope when she pulled one back midway through the second half, but Amy Thrupp settled matters with seven minutes remaining. PILCS now trail Cardiff Met by eight points and have a game in hand.
Lisa Bird scored a goal in each half to give Cardiff City FC a 2-0 victory over Cwmbran Celtic. The result was enough to take City back up into third place in the table.
Port Talbot Town look to be in line for the mid-table position after running out 5-1 winners over Newcastle Emlyn. Courteney Thomas and Nicole Rawlingson got them off to a flying start by scoring a goal apiece inside the opening six minutes, a margin they took into the half time break. Thomas netted her second on the hour and Lucy Jones extended Port Talbot's lead, before Thomas went on to complete her hat-trick. Carys Davis scored a late consolation for Newcastle Emlyn, five minutes from time.
The North Wales derby went the way of Llandudno, who won 2-0 away to Rhyl & Prestatyn. Steph Walsh opened the scoring for Llandudno in the sixteenth minute, before Rosie Hughes wrapped up the points midway through the second half.
