Vanessa Raynbird has left her position as Director of Football at Portsmouth FC Ladies with immediate effect.
The former Pompey manager has issued the following statement underlining her reasons for leaving:
In the absence of an official statement from Portsmouth FC Ladies I find it necessary to issue my own.
More than 6 weeks ago I resigned from my position as Director of Football with Portsmouth FC Ladies as I could no longer tolerate the behaviour of a fellow member of the club.
I consider myself to be a well mannered polite person and expect the same of others around me. Therefore when a committee member of Portsmouth FC Ladies tells me that they 'have no respect for me', finds me 'ignorant toward others', that I do 'very little for the club,' that I 'walk around like the big I am of Women's Football' and doesn't trust me to represent the club, I find it totally unacceptable.
I have never experienced this sort of behaviour within PFCL in the past or in all the years that I have been involved in Women's and Girl's football.
I have enjoyed 12 incredible years at Portsmouth FC Ladies and hoped that this would continue. I have not resigned because I no longer have the passion and desire to help the club progress; I have done so because I simply cannot continue to be part of a club where committee members knowingly allow this behaviour to go on.
I wish the players all the very best for the future and hope that they gain the Women's Super League status which is the level of football the ladies deserve to be playing.
Portsmouth FC Ladies have declined to comment upon this statement when asked.
