England remain in sixth place in the latest FIFA Women's World Rankings list but have narrowed the gap on the teams above them. The Cyprus Cup triumph has taken them through the 2,000 ranking points barrier for the first time and they are just behind Sweden in the list. Scotland hold firm in 21st place but the news is not quite so good for Wales and Northern Ireland, who dropped back to 35th and 66th respectively. The top six in the list remain unchanged but United States' achievement of winning the Algarve Cup means that they have closed the gap on number one ranked Germany. The next rankings list will be published after the FIFA Women's World Cup.
