Hibernian edged out Spartans on a penalty shootout to reach the semi finals of the Scottish Women's Premier League Cup after the sides had shared a 2-2 draw after extra time.
Spartans took the lead after three minutes when Sarah Ewens fired home from a free kick, before Kirsty Smith levelled matters on the stroke of half time. Neither team could manage a breakthrough during the second half, taking the game into extra time where Spartans went back in front through a powerful strike from Michelle Russell. Hibs pressed for an equaliser with Lizzie Arnot hitting the bar and in the final minute, Lucy Graham scored from close range to take the game to penalties. Jenna Fife made one save during the shootout and it was Hibs who emerged as 4-1 winners to take their place in the last four.
Aberdeen came from a goal behind to progress to the semi finals with a 2-1 victory away to Inverness City. The home side led at the interval but with ten minutes remaining, substitute Sarah Main equalised for the Dons and Rachael Small completed the fightback by grabbing the winner.
Holders Glasgow City eased into the last four with a thumping 11-0 win over Hutchison Vale. A hat-trick from Fiona Brown, a double from Jo Love and goals apiece from Hayley Lauder, Abbi Grant, Denise O'Sullivan, Leanne Ross, Erin Cuthbert and the returning Alyshia Walker gave City an emphatic victory.
Celtic complete the semi final line-up after running out 4-0 winners at Stirling University. Ruesha Littlejohn headed them in front on the quarter hour and barely a minute later, Sam McManus doubled their lead. McManus went on to add a second shortly afterwards and she completed her hat-trick to round off the scoring with a sweetly struck volley just before half time.
