Belles edge out determined Villa
 Women's Football News 26 Apr 2015
Doncaster Rovers Belles 2 (Sweetman-Kirk 44, England 75) Aston Villa 1 (Cottam 81)
Goals from Courtney Sweetman-Kirk and Bethany England got Doncaster Rovers Belles back to winning ways after a draw with Everton last time out and returned Glen Harris' side to the top of the FA WSL 2 table at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Aston Villa replied through Abi Cottam's sublime half volley but could not find a late equaliser as Nicola Hobbs starred with a string of good saves.
Hobbs showed excellent reflexes on 35 minutes to keep out Katie Wilkinson's point blank header, before Emily Roberts nodded Sue Smith's cross against the crossbar five minutes later. Sweetman-Kirk opened the scoring though from another Smith cross a minute before the break.
The striker then slipped after rounding Villa keeper Caitlin Leach on 57 minutes, but was instrumental as she teed up Smith to cross for England's header to the far post with 15 minutes to go.
Villa deservedly pulled a goal back as Cottam steered a superb effort past Hobbs from 20 yards, before the finale was marred by a late injury to visiting midfielder Kerri Welsh, who was carried off on a stretcher.
Doncaster Rovers Belles: Nicola Hobbs, Lyndsey Cunningham, Rhiannon Roberts, Leandra Little, Hope Knight (sub Samantha Tierney 60mins), Sophie Barker, Kasia Lipka, Bethany England, Emily Roberts (sub Reanne Thomas 90mins), Courtney Sweetman-Kirk, Sue Smith.
