Preston North End are the first ever winners of the Premier League Plate after beating Huddersfield Town 3-0 in the Final at Guiseley.
Preston's success was even more impressive when considering that they didn't concede a goal in any of their four matches played in the competition.
Huddersfield nearly took the lead during the first half when Emily Heckler was denied by a superb save from Danielle Brown but on the stroke of half time, a lob from Yasmine Swarbrick put Preston in front.
During the second half, Huddersfield pressed forward in an attempt to get back on level terms but the Preston defence stood firm to protect their lead.
As the game entered the last five minutes, Preston added a second goal when Laura Walker played a through ball to Keeleigh Savage and the striker, making her first start in almost a year because of injury, rounded Laura Carter before slotting the ball home.
Preston crowned the win in injury time through a 25-yard strike from Chelsea Flanagan which sparked jubilant scenes as her side celebrated lifting their first major trophy.
