Portsmouth are one point away from winning the Southern Division title following their 3-1 victory against Queen's Park Rangers.
Ini Umotong and Charley Wilson gave Pompey a two-goal lead inside the opening half hour and although Gemma Rudman pulled a goal back for Rangers before half time, Molly Clark sealed a precious win for her side with ten minutes remaining. Portsmouth therefore need to avoid defeat against West Ham Utd on Sunday in order to be confirmed as Champions.
Brighton & Hove Albion will be awaiting any slip up in second place after beating Keynsham Town 5-1 in the first of their meetings on successive Sundays. Deanna Cooper gave the Seagulls a fourth minute lead which was levelled by Olivera Markovic but Amy Taylor quickly put Brighton back in front. Lucy Somes and Kirsty Barton extended their lead after the break and Taylor wrapped up the win for her side with her second goal, fifteen minutes from time.
Cardiff City Ladies look destined to finish the season in fourth place as their meeting with Tottenham Hotspur finished in a 2-2 draw. Wendy Martin and Eartha Pond netted the goals for Spurs while Cardiff replied through Naomi Clipston and Laura Williams.
