Norway seal second place
 Women's Football News 15 Jun 2015

Norway 3 (Hegerberg 6,62, Gulbrandsen 67) Ivory Coast 1 (Nguessan 71)
Norway made sure of second place in Group B as two Ada Hegerberg goals helped them on the way to victory against the Ivory Coast, who go home having lost all three games.

The Norwegians required a huge victory if they were to stand any chance of finishing above Germany in the final table, but they will have to settle for qualification and a Second Round tie against the runners-up in Group F.

After six minutes, Norway got the start they wanted as they opened the scoring. A long ball forward was half cleared by the Ivorian defence and Solveig Gulbrandsen lobbed the ball back into the area, Kristine Minde headed on and Hegerberg fired past Cynthia Djohore at her near post, from an acute angle.

Norway continued to dominate proceedings with Hegerberg bringing out a good save from Djohore, then the young striker should have netted a second but miscued her shot with the goal gaping in front of her.

It wasn't until just after the hour mark when the Norwegians took a firm grip on the match with their second goal. Ingrid Schjelderup and Gulbrandsen exchanged passes before Elise Thorsnes put Hegerberg through on goal and this time she made no mistake, finishing confidently past Djohore.

Another five minutes elapsed before a long free kick into the area was met at the far post by Maria Thorisdottir who headed across goal for Gulbrandsen to nod in from close range.

The end was night for Ivory Coast but they were to leave the tournament on a high note. Receiving the ball from a pass by Djelika Coulibaly, Ange Nguessan carried the ball towards goal before unleashing a 25-yard strike which sailed into the top corner, giving Ingrid Hjelmseth no chance.
