France ease past South Korea
 Women's Football News 22 Jun 2015
France 3 (Delie 4,48, Thomis 8) South Korea 0
Two goals in the opening eight minutes saw France towards a comfortable victory in Montreal which sets up a mouthwatering quarter final tie against Germany.
A selection shock was sprung before the game with Ji So Yun not being included in the Korean starting line up and things were to get worse for her side as they were swept away during the opening stages.
With just four minutes gone, Laura Boulleau and Camille Abily played a one-two in the area with Boulleau cutting the ball back for Marie Laure Delie and although her shot was not the hardest, it was accurate enough to find the far corner and send France off to the perfect start.
Before the Koreans could recover, Jessica Houara found Elodie Thomis and after exchanging passes with Eugenie Le Sommer, Thomis buried her shot past Kim Jungmi to put her side two ahead.
France were looking a completely different side from that which had played their opening two games and the Koreans were struggling to cope with their fast passing game.
Delie forced a good save from Kim Jungmi and Le Sommer was inches away with a firm strike but South Korea managed to keep the deficit at two goals going into half time.
However after just three further minutes, the result was put beyond any further doubt. After receiving the ball from Louisa Necib, Le Sommer powered her way into the area and past three defenders before setting up the simplest of chances for Delie to score her second from six yards.
South Korea had a rare chance following a poor clearance from Sarah Bouhaddi but the erratic French keeper atoned for this by turning the resulting shot from Yoo Younga over the bar.
It was only a fleeting glimpse on the French goal though and Philippe Bergeroo's side were able to see out the rest of the game comfortably, whilst going close to a fourth when substitute Kheira Hamraoui's 20-yard strike dipped just over the bar.
France: Sarah Bouhaddi, Jessica Houara, Laure Boulleau, Laura Georges, Wendie Renard, Amandine Henry, Elodie Thomis, Marie Laure Delie (sub Kadidiatou Diani 84mins), Eugenie Le Sommer (sub Gaetane Thiney 74mins), Camille Abily (sub Kheira Hamraoui 77mins), Louisa Necib.
