England put themselves in with a great chance of reaching the semi finals of the UEFA Women's Under-17 Championships after beating Iceland 3-1 in Akranes.
After having drawn 1-1 with Spain in their opening match, John Griffiths' side moved into second place in their group with victory over the hosts, whilst Spain shocked holders Germany 4-0 in the other group game.
Ashleigh Plumptre ensured that England led at the interval, giving them the lead just before the half hour after having an earlier goal cancelled out for offside.
Four minutes into the second half, Charlotte Devlin put England in a strong position by doubling their lead and despite Andrea Mist Palsdottir pulling a goal back for Iceland, Georgia Allen sealed victory by scoring from a corner with two minutes remaining.
England now take on Germany in the final group game on Sunday and they will progress to the last four if they avoid defeat.
