Spain came from a goal down to defeat England 3-1 in the second group match at the UEFA Women's Under-19 Championship finals in Israel.
Natasha Flint put the Young Lionesses ahead early on but Jorge Vilda's side, last year's runners-up, came roaring back in the second half with goals from Pilar Garrote, Alba Redondo and Rocío Gálvez to leave England on the verge of going out of the competition. England are bottom of Group B with just one match left - against Norway next Tuesday.
Head coach Mo Marley named the same eleven that started Wednesday's narrow defeat by Germany and her side got off to a flying start when Flint put them 1-0 up after just nine minutes, her eighth goal in 19 matches at this level.
England took the narrow lead into break, but Garrote levelled for Spain just ten minutes into the second half.
Redondo netted a second on 81 and Gálvez bagged another late on to leave England, winners of this competition in 2009, with an uphill battle to qualify for the semi finals.
