Arsenal 2 (Stoney 45, Losada 62) Reading FC Women 1 (Watts 90)
Goals from Casey Stoney and Vicky Losada saw Arsenal home as they reached the quarter finals of the FA WSL Continental Tyres Cup with a 2-1 win over Reading FC Women.
Two well worked goals gave the Gunners their fourth straight win in the competition and they can clinch top spot in Group A if they make it five out of five at Millwall Lionesses on Sunday.
Arsenal broke through right on half time as a clever free kick routine involving Jordan Nobbs and Chioma Ubogagu led to Natalia putting a ball across that Stoney turned in at the far post.
Reading almost equalised early in the second half as Emma Follis played the ball across for Bianca Bragg, whose shot was blocked by Sari van Veenendaal.
The Gunners doubled their lead in classy fashion as Carla Humphrey played in Vicky Losada, who cut inside before bending in a delightful finish.
Nikki Watts was to claim a consolation in stoppage time for the Royals when she rose at the back post to nod in an excellent cross by Rachel Rowe.
