Glasgow City 0 Chelsea 3 (Aluko 22, Kirby 57, Flaherty 61)
(Chelsea won 4-0 on aggregate)
Chelsea are through to the last sixteen of the UEFA Champions League after a comfortable 3-0 victory at Glasgow City on Wednesday night.
The Blues were already leading 1-0 from the first leg and England international Eniola Aluko set the visitors on their way to a routine victory with a stunning first half goal. Fran Kirby and Gilly Flaherty then netted twice in four minutes in the second period to record an emphatic 4-0 win on aggregate and keep the FA WSL 1 champions' dreams alive.
There was very little to get excited about in the opening quarter but then Aluko broke the deadlock on 22 minutes when Ji So-Yun found the striker and she ran across the edge of the penalty box before finding the top corner. The Blues finished the half in control and Lee Alexander had to save from Kirby and Gemma Davison before the break.
Kirby then extended her side's lead 12 minutes after the restart when she cut in from the left and struck a powerful shot into the roof of the net.
The Blues' place in the last sixteen was secured four minutes later when Ji was again the provider and Flaherty powered a header in from close range.
Chelsea had further chances to rub salt in the Glasgow wounds, although the hosts did almost pull one back when Abbi Grant missed a glorious chance from inside the six yard box.
