Norway too strong for Wales
 Women's Football News 23 Oct 2015
Norway 4 (Herlovsen 30,71, Ada Hegerberg 39, Mjelde 90) Wales 0
Wales went down to a second defeat in their Euro 2017 qualifying campaign when they were beaten by a strong Norway side in Aalesund.
It was never going to be easy for Wales due to Norway's pedigree in women's football and Jayne Ludlow's team were unable to stop their hosts from taking all three points.
Norway applied much pressure on the Wales defence with Andrine Hegerberg attempting a long range effort early on that was dealt with by Alice Evans in the Wales goal. Ada Hegerberg, the sister of Andrine, came close too but her shot was deflected over the crossbar.
Shortly after, Jessica Fishlock sent Helen Ward though on goal for what was an excellent chance for Wales to take the lead. Ward's shot however, was saved by Ingrid Hjelmseth.
Despite that rare chance for Wales, the pressure finally got too much for Wales in the 31st minute when Alice Evans spilled the ball in the box, allowing Isabell Herlovsen to put Norway 1-0 up.
Norway made it 2-0 during the 39th minute of play when Andrine Hegerberg supplied her sister Ada with a cross to head the ball past Evans.
Norway were comfortable in the second half and created several more chances and made it 3-0 when Trine Ronning set up Herlovsen for her brace.
Late on the game Evans pulled off a fine save for Wales when she denied Herlovsen the chance to notch up a hat-trick but Norway were to round off the scoring deep into injury time when Maren Mjelde scored from a free kick.
Wales play their first home match of the qualifying campaign on Thursday 26th November against Kazakhstan at Conygar Bridge Meadow Stadium in Haverfordwest.
