Nottingham Forest are the new leaders of the Northern Division following their 2-1 victory over Blackburn Rovers.
Saffron Jordan gave Rovers the lead during the first half and they looked to be on their way towards a win which would actually have taken them top but Annabel McKechnie equalised after the break and Elizabeta Ejupi grabbed a winner for Forest with four minutes remaining. Forest therefore top the table for the first time this season whilst Blackburn are in fifth, four points off the pace.
Derby County had started the day as the pacesetters but they are back in second after being beaten 3-0 by Stoke City. Ashleigh Hayes netted the only goal of the first half for Stoke and they went on to clinch the points with strikes after the break from Laura Garside and Abby Hunt.
Sporting Club Albion won 3-2 away to Nuneaton Town and are one point further adrift in third place. Karen Clough netted twice and Billie Haynes the other to earn Albion a narrow victory.
Preston North End continue to make up ground on the leading teams and remain handily placed after winning 2-1 at Loughborough Foxes. Charlotte Farrell headed Preston in front after nine minutes and she went on to score a decisive second from the penalty spot midway through the second half, despite Vicky Brackenbury pulling a goal back for the Foxes late on.
After three successive defeats, Newcastle Utd got back to winning ways with a 3-1 victory over Bradford City. Jess Havelock gave the Lady Magpies a first half lead from the penalty spot and after the break, Sarah Danby equalised for Bradford. Jess Foster put Newcastle back in front, before Ellie Dobson secured the points with the third goal.
It was a great day for Guiseley AFC Vixens who claimed their first victory and points of the season after losing their nine previous games. An own goal gave them the lead against Huddersfield Town midway through the first half and Shelley James netted the second.
