PILCS began their defence of the Welsh Premier Women's League Cup with a 7-0 victory over Newcastle Emlyn, which took them through to the quarter finals.
Lyndsey Davies once again led the scoring for the holders, the hot shot striker bagging a hat-trick and Alana Murphy weighed in with a brace, while Jassie Costa and Shauna Pentney added a goal apiece.
League leaders Cardiff Met Ladies went one better on the day, scoring eight times without reply against Rhyl & Prestatyn. Emily Allen and Erin Murray were both on target twice along with Stacey Ayling, Steph Turner, Robyn Pinder and Abi Fever.
In the other First Round tie, Cardiff City FC booked their place in the last eight by beating Port Talbot Town 3-0. However the game was closer than the scoreline suggests as normal time could not produce a winner with a goalless scoreline after 90 minutes. Four minutes into extra time, Lisa Bird broke the deadlock to give City the lead and they went on to seal victory in the second period, thanks to goals from Kylie Davies and Alicia Davies.
