Brighton & Hove Albion got their season back on track with a 2-1 victory away to Southern Division leaders Cardiff City Ladies.
The Seagulls had gone three league matches without a win but after a confident start, they took the lead in the sixteenth minute when Kate Natkiel finished off a good move. Amy Taylor put them two ahead on the hour mark, before Kelly Aldridge pulled one back for Cardiff five minutes later. The home side pressed hard for an equaliser but the Brighton defence, which included debutant Amelia Ritchie, stood firm and held out for a victory which takes them to within a single point of their opponents.
Tottenham Hotspur are up into fourth place following their 2-1 win against West Ham Utd, whose three match unbeaten run was brought to an end. Wendy Martin was once again a key figure for Spurs, the midfielder scoring both goals to take her league tally for the season to five, before Romina Pinna grabbed an injury time consolation for the Hammers.
