Fulham FC Foundation pulled one of the results of the round in the SSE Women's FA Cup last time around when beating St Nicholas, and they are setting their sights on Premier League opposition once again.
The London & South East League side are up against Enfield Town and manager David Newland is relishing the occasion once again. "The team and I are very much looking forward to the tie against Enfield this weekend," he told Women's Soccer Scene. "It's another chance to test ourselves against higher league opposition.
"We have enjoyed our successes in the qualifying rounds and move into this tie with much confidence. It is a great testament to this group of players, who let's not forget, have only played together for just under two years and are making history together for our club.
"On a personal level, it is a great honour to lead the team into this match. I have been very fortunate to be a part of a FA Youth Cup winning side whilst part of the coaching staff at Chelsea Ladies FC, however this First Round tie will mean more to me as I look to spearhead Fulham to another victory and progress into the Second Round of the famous Cup."
"I am very excited to be a part of the FA Cup game this weekend," added Fulham goalkeeper Paige Hersey. "As a new player to Fulham Ladies and only recently stepping up into the first team, the opportunity is amazing and hopefully we will come away with a win to then progress into the next round. I look forward to more experiences like this."
