Cardiff Met Ladies extended their lead at the top of the Welsh Premier League, thanks to a 5-1 victory away to local rivals Cyncoed Ladies. Met made a fast start to the match with Ellie Sargent and Abi Fever putting them two ahead inside the opening twelve minutes, a lead which they held going into the interval. Erin Murray scored a third for the reigning Champions just before the hour but Cyncoed rallied and brought themselves back into the game when Clare Daley pulled a goal back. However any hopes of a Cyncoed fightback were dashed when Stacey Ayling restored the three-goal advantage shortly afterwards and Aimee Todd rounded off the scoring with seven minutes remaining. The match at Cyncoed was the only one to survive the weather in the league on Sunday but the semi final line up for the League Cup was completed when the final tie was played, Swansea City booking their place in the last four by winning 4-0 against Aberystwyth Town. Sarah Adams gave Swansea the lead inside the opening minute and Emma Beynon added a further two goals ahead of the break. Aberystwyth fought hard during the second half but it was the Swans who were to crown the win through a fourth goal from Kelly Newcombe and last season's beaten finalists are now away to Cardiff City FC in the semi finals.
