Roberts signs full time Belles deal
 Women's Football News 22 Dec 2015
Roberts signs full time Belles deal - 22 Dec 2015 - Women's Football NewsWales international Rhiannon Roberts has bolstered the Doncaster Rovers Belles' back line by signing a full time contract with the club.
The 25-year-old has proved to be an integral part of Glen Harris' defence, putting her body on the line throughout the successful 2015 campaign to help her team gain promotion into FA WSL 1.
Roberts' stoic presence in the heart of the Doncaster defence and her consistently solid form also led to international recognition with the former Blackburn Rovers ace featuring in Jayne Ludlow's Welsh side during their Euro 2015 qualifying campaign.
On Roberts signing professional terms, Harris said: "This is a significant signing for Belles. 'Razza' has been a mainstay of our defence for the past two years and has developed well to achieve international recognition for Wales last season.
"We have only had her training one night per week previously (due to work commitments), but now she'll be training full time so it will be exciting to see just how far she can progress."
A delighted Rhiannon Roberts said: "Since signing three years ago, I have really enjoyed my football and just want to keep progressing. Being part of the Belles is like being part of a family.
"Individually I want to hit my peak. I want to use this opportunity to be the best I can be in football. Also, playing against good players week in, week out will help my international career.
"For the Belles, I want us to win. We have shown we can compete with FA WSL 1 teams and that was with no full time players. With full time training, there is no reason we can't ultimately win something, although it is also important that we focus on getting enough points to keep us in FA WSL 1 and keep building from there."
