Doncaster Rovers Belles manager Glen Harris has shared his delight in snapping up talented goalkeeper Anna Moorhouse, admitting the youngster came highly recommended from a former FA WSL 1 title winning boss.
Harris was keen to clinch the signature of Durham Women FC shot stopper Moorhouse who, after a spell with Everton Ladies Development Squad, made fifteen appearances during her time at New Ferens Park.
Harris says he talked to ex-Liverpool and current Boston Breakers head coach Matt Beard about the much sought-after 20-year-old keeper who has attended England Under-19s training camps.
"He suggested we take a look at Anna whilst she was with Durham," said Belles manager Harris. "When she played against us, she was outstanding.
"We are really pleased to have her on board for the 2016 season and I know she is keen to test herself in FA WSL 1."
Moorhouse told the club's official website that signing for Doncaster was an offer she couldn't turn down and wants to win trophies with Belles. "It feels great to be signing for Belles. I had no idea they were interested in signing me so it came as a surprise," said Moorhouse, from Oldham.
"The chance to train more and play in FA WSL1 was an offer I couldn't refuse. I want to improve both technically and physically and then if I'm given the opportunity to play, I'll take it.
"I think it's important for Belles to stay in FA WSL 1 and get enough points to do that, but there's no reason why we can't compete for trophies."
