Fara makes Arsenal move - 5 Jan 2016 - Women's Football NewsEngland midfielder Fara Williams has joined Arsenal from Liverpool Ladies. 
The 31-year-old is England's most capped ever player, having passed Rachel Yankey's record of 129 appearances for her country in August 2014.
She played a key part in the Lionesses' successful World Cup campaign in Canada last summer, scoring three penalties including an extra-time winner against Germany to secure England third place in the tournament.
During spells with Liverpool, Everton, Charlton Athletic and Chelsea, Fara has amassed two league titles and one FA Cup. She has also been recognised with a string of personal accolades, including the FA players' player of the year and FA young player of the year awards. She was made an MBE in the 2016 New Year Honours List.
Gunners manager Pedro Martinez Losa said: "We are delighted to welcome Fara to the club. She is a great competitor and a fantastic character too. She is a player with huge experience at club and international level, and her reading and understanding of games is fantastic. She is an exciting addition to the squad and I look forward to working with her as we begin preparations for the 2016 season."
