Annie contracted for season - 15 Jan 2016 - Women's Football NewsAnn Marie Heatherson has become Jamie Sherwood's most recent signing for the fast approaching season.
Yeovil Town Ladies manager Jamie Sherwood, has contracted attacking player Heatherson, which will see her be a vital player to the squad in the 2016 FA Women's Super League season.
Heatherson scored 7 goals in the 2015 season and picked up main sponsors player of the year from Jones Building Group, following her excellent displays and gritty performances, which saw Yeovil finish in fourth place, level on points with third placed Everton, but with goal difference separating them.
Known for her tenacious play, along with her rather peculiar goal celebrations, Heatherson will also bring vast amounts of experience, having played at England U21 international level, along with being an FA Women's Cup winner too.
Heatherson will be one of many players that Sherwood has secured for the new campaign and he is confident that Heatherson will be another big player.
Sherwood said: "I am really pleased to retain the services of Heatherson. Last season she quickly settled into the group and became a strong, positive and influential voice within the squad.
"Annie quickly became not only a fans favorite, but her peers really took to her and we saw in her performance last season that she leaves everything on the pitch. Her commitment, desire and crazy goal celebrations will be integral to pushing this group further again this season.
"She has returned to training full of bounce and purpose and already has started developing the new faces into the existing group."
Heatherson commented: "I'm very grateful for the chance to play another year at Yeovil Town. When Jamie offered me the contract it was a no brainier as I enjoyed every part of last season and even finishing fourth, it was a great season.
"Last year Jamie allowed me to not only enjoy the game but he also introduced me to an amazing club that I'm very passionate about and I'm looking forward to stepping up our game even more this year!"
