Holders PILCS will return to the Welsh Premier Women's League Cup Final after three first half goals took them to a stunning 3-1 semi final victory over Cardiff Met Ladies.
The reigning Champions went into the game as favourites, having won their meeting 6-2 in the league seven days earlier, but it was PILCS who got off to a great start and took the lead after five minutes through Alana Murphy. Jassie Vasconcelos then added a double to leave her side three up at half time and despite Stacey Ayling pulling a goal back for Met on the hour, PILCS saw the game out to move to within one match of retaining the trophy.
This year's Final will be a repeat of last time as Swansea City also made it through with a 3-1 extra time victory away to Cardiff City FC. After a goalless first half, Emma Beynon gave Swansea the lead nine minutes after the restart, before a Chelsea Cochrane penalty ensured that the scores were level after 90 minutes. It was to be the Swans' day though and they secured the win when Jodie Passmore scored twice during the first period of extra time.
In the league, MBi Llanduno remain in fourth place despite going down to a 1-0 defeat at home to Cyncoed Ladies. A closely fought game stayed in the balance until four minutes from time, when an own goal gave Cyncoed the result which takes them level on points with their opponents.
Port Talbot Town are in fifth following their 3-1 victory over Aberystwyth Town. Jesci Hare and Terri Beddow both scored in the five minute spell leading up to half time and Tija Richardson wrapped up the points with the third midway through the second half, before Ffion Lyn Roberts grabbed a late consolation for Aberystwyth.
