Sweden 6 (Dahlqvist 40, Ericsson 44, Jakobsson 45, Schelin 68, Hammarlund 78,83) Scotland 0
Scotland's first match of the year ended in a six-goal defeat at the Prioritet Serneke Arena in Gothenburg.
The match was an evenly contested one until Scotland's lack of match practice told shortly before half time, when they conceded three goals in five minutes.
First, Olivia Schough broke down the right and although Frankie Brown made a good challenge on Jessica Samuelsson from her low cross, the ball ran loose for Lisa Dahlkvist to drill a powerful shot into the net from 20 yards.
Another attack on the right led to the second goal, this time Sofia Jakobsson's cross picked out Magdalena Ericsson whose scuffed effort looped beyond the reach of Gemma Fay and in off the far post.
Before Scotland could recover, Sweden struck again as Lotta Schelin carried the ball forward and found Samuelsson who crossed for Jakobsson to chest down and steer the ball past Fay from six yards.
Sweden increased their lead midway through the second half with a swift counter attack after a Lisa Evans cross had been cleared. Dahlkvist's long ball over the defence was latched onto by Schelin who held off a challenge from Brown before slotting home.
Things got even worse for Scotland as Pauline Hammarlund cut in from the left and ran at a tired looking defence before unleashing a 25-yard shot which sailed into the corner of the net, giving Fay no chance.
Five minutes later, the scoring was completed when Dahlkvist slid an inch perfect through ball into the path of Hammarlund who rounded the oncoming Fay and maintained her composure to steer a left foot shot home from an angle.
