Destiney calling in at Villa
 Women's Football News 3 Feb 2016
Destiney calling in at Villa   - 3 Feb 2016 - Women's Football NewsAston Villa are delighted to announce the singing of Destiney Toussaint.
The exciting winger has put pen to paper for the WSL 2 2016 campaign. The former Coventry City and Oxford United player will be a familiar face to the Villa Ladies faithful having played against the claret and blues last season. She will wear squad number 17.
Head coach Joe Hunt is thrilled to have Toussaint on board and delighted with the way his squad is shaping up - star performer Alicia Robinson the latest squad member to commit to the claret and blue cause.
He said: "Destiney is a player we have been looking at for a long time. Halfway through last season she came to us but unfortunately she was carrying an injury and our squad was at capacity.
"She played against us for Oxford in our game down there and was superb. She gave our centre backs a tough afternoon. She gives us so many options, she can play both wing positions comfortably.
"We had a behind-closed-doors game at the weekend and she had a brilliant second half on the left wing. Considering it was her first game she combined exceptionally well with Katie Wilkinson and Beth Merrick, which is a huge positive.
"But she also gives us a brilliant option through the middle. She's quick, strong and understands the role well.
"It's always good to have players that understand different roles and responsibilities. We're very fortunate here that we have a lot of players that can play numerous positions very well.
"Destiney knows that we are very competitive in our attacking positions but she is willing to work hard and compete for her place.
"We now have four established wingers with Destiney, Amy West, Beth Merrick and Sarah Mayling plus the fire power through the middle of Katie Wilkinson, Tash Baptiste and Kerri Welsh.
"We will add one or two more but we are very pleased with how our squad is shaping up."
