Cardiff Met Ladies returned to action in the Welsh Premier Women's League with an 8-1 victory away to MBi Llandudno.
Following recent defeats in both of the Cup competitions, Met took another step towards keeping hold of their title with a result which takes them eleven points clear at the top. Emily Allen opened the scoring in the second minute with the first of her brace and Erin Murray contributed a hat-trick. Aimee Todd, Stacey Ayling and Georgia Bridges also got on the scoresheet for Met who are averaging seven goals per game.
Aberystwyth Town have finished bottom of the table in each of the last two seasons but it is a different story in this campaign. A 4-0 win away to Newcastle Emlyn has taken them up into fifth place and Aber now have their sights set on a top half place. Ffion Wyn gave Aber a first half lead which was doubled by Katie White and after the break, Wyn netted twice more to secure her first hat-trick for the club.
Rhyl & Prestatyn meanwhile picked up another useful point from a 1-1 draw with fourth placed Port Talbot Town. Rachel Nattrass netted the goal for Rhyl and Vicky Stratton was on target for Port Talbot.
