Oxford United are delighted to announce the signing of Nigerian international Ini Umotong from Portsmouth.
The 21-year-old forward scored 29 times in 25 games for Portsmouth Ladies in the 2014-15 season, and has netted 25 times so far in the 2015-16 season.
Manager Les Taylor is pleased to have signed someone of Ini's calibre. He said: "Ini is a striker who possesses both power and pace. She is also a proven goal scorer as seen during her time at Portsmouth ladies. We have been very fortunate to recruit such an exciting player like Ini, who has international experience representing Nigeria at the World Cup.
"She has been very impressive during training with Oxford United and I am sure she will be a handful for opposition defences."
Ini added: "I'm extremely excited to be progressing my career with Oxford. I like the vision and style of play at the club, which I think will be very suited to me individually.
"Portsmouth helped me massively with my confidence and for that I'm really grateful, but it's now time I flew the nest. With the goals I've set for myself this season, both international and club, I have every confidence they can be achieved here and I'm really looking forward to developing with the club."
