Villa hit back to sink Oxford
 Women's Football News 28 Mar 2016
Aston Villa 2 (Wilkinson 40, Merrick 70) Oxford Utd 1 (Umotong 7)
Aston Villa recovered from an early setback to beat Oxford Utd and pick up their first points of the new season.
The visitors had enjoyed the better of the first half chances with Ini Umotong continuing to look lively up front after her fine solo effort on seven minutes which gave the U's the lead.
But Wilkinson hit back with a brilliant goal of her own. Spotting Demi Lambourne off her line, the striker hit a delightful lob into the bottom corner from 25 yards.
Villa emerged revitalised after the break and with just 20 minutes remaining, Jess Frampton handled in the box to allow Wilkinson the chance to add to her tally from the spot. Her penalty was well saved by Lambourne, but Beth Merrick was first to the rebound to score Villa's second.
