Brighton close in on title
 Women's Football News 28 Mar 2016
Brighton & Hove Albion are two wins away from the Southern Division title after winning 6-1 away to C & K Basildon.
Deanna Cooper netted two of the goals for the Seagulls and she was joined on the scoresheet by Charlotte Gurr, Amy Taylor, Jay Blackie and Kate Natkiel, with Claire Lacey replying. Brighton have two games remaining and victory in both games would put them beyond the reach of their title rivals.
Portsmouth kept their hopes alive with a 3-0 success at Forest Green Rovers, who are now destined to finish in the bottom two. All of Pompey's goals came during the first half, Lucy Quinn and Leeta Rutherford putting them two ahead and Shannon Sievwright netting the third on the stroke of half time.
Tottenham Hotspur meanwhile maintained their recent good form by beating Lewes 2-0, goals coming from Avilla Bergin and Rosie Kmita.
