PFA award nominees
 Women's Football News 16 Apr 2016
The nominees for this year's PFA awards have been announced by the Professional Football Association.
Five players have been nominated for each category - the Women's PFA Players Player of the Year awards and Women's PFA Young Player of the Year award. As well as the individual awards, there will also be a divisional Team of the Year award for the FA WSL.
The nominations for each category are as follows:-
Women's PFA Players Player of the Year
Beth Mead (Sunderland)
Gemma Davison (Chelsea)
Hedvig Lindahl (Chelsea)
Izzy Christiansen (Manchester City)
Ji So-Yun (Chelsea)
Women's PFA Young Player of the Year
Beth Mead (Sunderland)
Danielle Carter (Arsenal)
Hannah Blundell (Chelsea)
Keira Walsh (Manchester City)
Nikita Parris (Manchester City)
The individual winners for each category will be announced at the PFA awards on 24th April 2016 in the Grosvenor House in London.
Beth Mead, who was voted as Players' Player of the Year at the Women's Football Awards back in December, could make history as she has been nominated for both awards.
Although this will be the 43rd PFA awards in total, it will be only the fourth time that the women's award will be presented. The inaugural winner of the Players Player of the Year was then Arsenal midfielder Kim Little in 2013, with Lucy Bronze carrying off the award the following year. Last year's winner was Ji So-Yun, who could become the first player to win the award in successive years having been nominated again this time around.
The Young Player of the Year award was introduced a year later in 2014, with Liverpool defender Martha Harris the first ever winner of the trophy. Last time around, the recipient was Leah Williamson of Arsenal.
