Two clubs are now realistically in the race to finish in second place in the Southern Division, still headed by Charlton Athletic who eased to a 5-1 victory over Plymouth Argyle.
Jenny Newman, Charley Clifford, Gemma Shepherd, Kit Graham, Nikita Whinnett all scored a goal apiece for the Addicks while Summer Taylor netted the reply for Argyle, who are practically certain to end up at the bottom.
Cardiff City Ladies are two points behind Charlton, with a game in hand, after they defeated Queen's Park Rangers 7-1. Kerry Bartlett was on target for times for Cardiff along with Cori Williams, Abbie Britton and Kelly Aldridge, whilst Mariko Engels scored Rangers' consolation.
Coventry Utd's chances of a top two finish took a severe blow as they went down to a 2-1 defeat at home to Tottenham Hotspur. Coventry had led for much of the game through an early strike from Alison Hall but Rosie Kmita scored twice late on to ensure that Spurs' league campaign finished on a winning note.
Three goals inside the opening 25 minutes saw Portsmouth to a 3-0 victory over Forest Green Rovers. Emma Sherwood gave Pompey an early lead and they went on to add further goals through Sarah Kempson and Gemma Hillier.
Lewes ended their season in the league by beating C & K Basildon 2-1, a result which lifts them above their opponents into seventh place. Danielle Lane and Natasha Wells scored the goals for the Rookettes, with C & K's reply coming from Zoe Rushen.
