Royston aim to build on success - 21 Apr 2016 - Women's Football News

Royston Town are celebrating winning the Eastern Region League Division One West title following victory on Sunday.
Royston started the season looking to better their previous two seasons' second place finish. This season "The Crows" formed a new Development Squad (playing in the Beds & Herts League) to help the progression of the club's new exciting young players.
The Crows also made some new additions to strengthen their squad over the summer period and started their league campaign really well by winning their first three games as well as progressing in the SSE Women's FA Cup and the Hertfordshire County Cup.
Following a mid-season blip, Royston found themselves in the semi finals of the County Cup and the league title was still within their reach with four league games remaining, knowing that three wins would guarantee the title and promotion. With one match to spare, the Crows secured the title with a convincing 4-1 win at Colney Heath.
Royston Town Ladies are an ambitious club and will continue to build for next season with the aim of building on their success.
The team is managed by Lewis Endacott with Amy Cooper and Heather Parete as captain and vice captain respectively. Samantha Tinsley is the team's leading goalscorer with an impressive 32 goals in just 17 appearances - this means she is also the top scorer in the league.
