Preston North End have set the target in the Northern Division after they finished their season with a 2-1 victory away to Bradford City.
Jenna Carroll and Yasmine Swarbrick scored the goals for Preston, with Rosie McDonnell replying for the home side, and they now face a waiting game to see if their points tally will be overhauled.
Sporting Club Albion's run of six consecutive wins was brought to a halt as they were held to a goalless draw by Huddersfield Town. Albion now know that they require ten points from their final five matches in order to win the title and are the only realistic challengers to Preston.
Blackburn Rovers can still catch Preston on points but will need three enormous victories in their final three matches to make up the deficit in goal difference. Blackburn's clash with Nottingham Forest also ended goalless and this has effectively ended their title chances.
Stoke City saw their title hopes evaporate as they went down to a surprise 2-1 defeat to Loughborough Foxes. Laura Steele and Emma Pilling scored the goals to give Loughborough only their second victory of the season and keep their survival hopes alive.
Newcastle Utd's upsurge in form has taken them away from danger and they can look forward to Northern Division football again next season after beating Derby County 2-0. Two late goals settled matters for Newcastle on the day, Mollie Lambert giving them the lead in the dying minutes and Chloe Johnson adding the second in injury time.
The vital relegation clash between Guiseley AFC Vixens and Nuneaton Town culminated in a 2-2 draw, meaning that Nuneaton remain one point ahead. Nicola Foskett and Sarah Rowles scored the goals for Nuneaton whilst Carey Huegett netted both for Guiseley, including a late equaliser.
