Sporting Club Albion picked up three of the ten points they require to win the Northern Division title and ended the remaining hopes of Blackburn Rovers by beating them 4-0.
All of Albion's goals came in the first half, Abi Cottam netting twice and there was one apiece from Eleanor Clarke and Kelly Darby.
Nottingham Forest still have a chance of a top three place after they defeated Stoke City 3-0. Elizabeta Ejupi gave Forest the lead after three minutes and they went on to add further strikes in the second half through Annabel McKechnie and Georgia Gladwin.
The battle to avoid relegation will go to the final match for each of the three teams involved and Nuneaton Town remain outside of the bottom two after picking up a valuable point from a 1-1 draw with Bradford City. Hannah Campbell was on target for Bradford, with Nuneaton replying through Nicola Foskett.
Loughborough Foxes meanwhile kept their survival hopes alive with a 2-1 victory over Newcastle Utd. After Lindsey McCubbin had given Newcastle a tenth minute lead, the Foxes hit back to take the points with goals from Shauna Chambers and Lisa Giampalma.
