Wales still have the chance to make qualifying history, but if Jayne Ludlow's side are to reach the Netherlands for the UEFA Women's EURO 2017 finals, they will need to claim an impressive scalp against a decorated Norwegian outfit that have already claimed a 4-0 victory over them in the reverse fixture.
However, Ludlow will relish bringing the best of Group Eight to Wales for the final three games, and there have been enough positive signs in recent performances to suggest that there could still be a few twists and turns before the final group positions are decided.
Norway have a well respected pedigree in the women's international game. European champions in 1987 and 1993, World champions in 1995 and Olympic champions in 2000. Norway were runners-up in UEFA Women's EURO 2013 in Sweden to Germany under the guidance of former manager Even Pellerud, and current boss Roger Finjord has been tasked with taking Norway back to the top of the women's game.
The 'grasshoppers' are formidable opposition in the women's game, with young Lyon striker Ada Hegerberg leading the way with four goals in four appearances during the current qualifying campaign. In addition, Hegerberg has also helped Lyon to the UEFA Women's Champions League final with 12 goals in the current campaign.
Jayne Ludlow has named her squad for the match which takes place at Newport Stadium on Tuesday 7th June, kick off 5pm. Admission to the match is £5 for adults and £2 concessions.
