Sunderland have had an excellent season in the Northern Division of the FA WSL Development League but their title winning campaign ended with a defeat on Sunday. A second half goal from Kirsty Hanson earned a 1-0 victory for Liverpool who continue to finish the season well, this being their fifth win in succession. In the other game, goals from Jaymee Dudley, Cheryl Edwards and Shania Hayles gave Birmingham City a 3-1 success away to Durham Women, who scored their consolation through Chloe Allan.
Arsenal are all but confirmed as Southern Division Champions following their midweek 9-1 victory away to Oxford Utd. Georgia Allen led the scoring for the Gunners with a hat-trick, Taylor Hinds and Rianna Dean each weighed in with a hat-trick and the total was completed by Chloe Brunton-Wilde and Charlotte Devlin. Arsenal therefore return to the top of the table on goal difference, which is likely to remain superior, but need one more point from their remaining three matches to make absolutely sure of winning the title. One match had been played on Sunday, Manuela Naprta scoring for London Bees as they battled out a 1-1 draw with Yeovil Town.
