Aston Villa 0 Manchester City 8 (Parris pen 4,19,60, Ross pen 18,90, Middag 33, Corboz 80, Scott 90)
Manchester City eased into the Continental Tyres Cup quarter finals by scoring eight times against an Aston Villa side which played over three quarters of the match with ten players.
City were awarded a penalty in the fourth minute when Elisha N'Dow handled in the area and Nikita Parris made no mistake in giving her side the lead. Villa's problems increased in the 18th minute as a second spot kick was given and Chloe Jones shown the red card for handball on the goal line, Jane Ross duly doubling the early advantage.
After their two penalties, Parris volleyed in her second goal a minute later, and Tessel Middag hit her first goal for City with a close range 33rd minute shot.
Parris drilled an angled shot into the roof of the net for her hat-trick goal on the hour mark and against a tiring Villa side, substitute Daphne Corboz netted a 20-yarder before Jill Scott and Ross both scored in stoppage time.
