Sunderland 4 (Mead 34,45, Sharp 39, Chaplen 78) Doncaster Rovers Belles 0 Beth Mead was on target twice as Sunderland registered their first league win of the season and lifted themselves out of the bottom two places. The two teams had met a week earlier in the Continental Tyres Cup with Doncaster Rovers Belles winning on that occasion but Mead opened the scoring with a neat finish after Leandra Little's red card for a professional foul had put the visitors on the back foot. Hayley Sharp doubled their lead minutes later before Mead added an outstanding third with a fine finish from 20 yards, although her evening came to a premature end due to injury in the second half. However, Sunderland continued to push forward and Brooke Chaplen rounded off the scoring twelve minutes from time when she made it four from Madeleine Hill's pass.
